The Kitasato symposium is aiming to be a very interactive format of presentations and discussions of recent findings and ideas between front-line basic and clinical researchers and rheumatologists with experience using biological therapies. We are delighted that front-line experts from many countries experienced in basic and clinical aspects of cytokines and their use in treatment have agreed to actively participate.
The field of biologic therapy has, particularly in recent years, been very successful in providing major evidence that this mode of treatment can be translated into new qualities of therapy to the benefit of our patients. The objective of the meeting is to share what has been learned in the past about cytokine and anti-cytokine directed therapies and new perspectives of basic, translational and clinical research in this field.
